I'm here now.  Come on over if you want!

Tuesday, May 29, 2007

So I've thought about it and this will be my last entry.  Xanga used to be a lot more to me.  Writing about my life and leaving the small pieces up here used to be something to me, now it's not.  I used to come home and want to write and now I come home and don't.

I don't know if I'll be back...  It's possible.

It's been fun xanga friends, I will miss you.

Xanga is a lot less fun for me than it once was.  Maybe it's time to move on...

Worked Wed-Sat all day last week.  That was nice for a change seeing as I usually only work Friday and Saturday all day.

Went and dropped off resumes on the weekend.  I really really want a full time job.  I'm fed up with barely work and therefore having little money.

The long weekend was yucky.  Stupid non-stop rain.  Landon and I pretty much hung around and watched movies the last couple days, which was really nice because we haven't had time to do that in a long time.

My mom is talking about opening a dress shop in the near-ish future (wintertime is near-ish in the grand scheme of things).  I think it would be really awesome if she did so we'll see how that all goes.

I finished the sixth Harry Potter book yesterday.  The end was sad but I'm really looking forward to the last book now.

The power went out last night so I had the "brilliant" idea of all of us eating supper at the table (generally we don't).  What a gong show that was.  Before we even sat down my sisters were arguing and one left the table and later returned but refused to sit at the table with everyone.  Nothing like go ol' family time.

Gonna bake some stuff today, don't quite know what though.

So I more or less stole this entry idea from Sophie... Anything to incite me to update...

A: I'm almost full-time this week because my supervisor is on vacation.  Almost.  I need a new (better) job.

B: I made my mom cinnamon buns for breakfast yesterday morning.  They were pretty yummy if I do say so myslf.

C: Chocolate cake is on the menu for tonight.  Just as soon as I finish this entry.  Chef Amy is going to try her hand at icing yet again, one of these days I'll get it right!

D: Have to go to the dentist today...  Bleh.  I'm gonna get lectured for not flossing, like I do everytime.  I'm well aware that I should floss.  I'm well aware that it's good for my teeth and I'm only hurting myself...

E: I'm listening to Everything to Everyone by Everclear.  I really love that song...  "I think you're blind to the fact that the hand you hold is the hand that holds you down"  "Spin around and fall now, yeah do it again, you stumble and fall, yeah do it again, I wonder if you'll ever learn..."

F: "I am flawed but I am cleaning up so well"  I sometimes try to think of the day I realized that being a grown up meant knowing that you don't know the answers and that that's okay.  I don't know how to solve everything; I've just got to take things one day at a time and go from there.

G: Landon and I went to see Blades of Glory last Saturday.  It was a super funny movie, a lot better than I thought it was going to be although I was thinking about it afterwords and there are quite a few parts where you can tell they are trying to be funny but I didn't even realize it...

H: I've recently decided that baking is my newest hobby.  I find it really calming, mixing ingredients to create something yummy.  It's kind of funny when I think about it because when I was younger I hated baking and would never do it.

I: I'm feeling guilty because I never seem to update anymore...  Then part of me feels like it's okay because pretty much no one reads this.  But it's a vicious cycle, isn't it?  No updates, no readers; no readers, no updates.  The other part of me agrees that it's ok simply because I don't have a heck of a lot to write about anymore.  I used to talk about boys and work...  Work is no longer interesting to me and I'm not exactly looking for boys anymore.

J: Landon bought a couple seasons of I Dream of Jeannie yesterday... For a sixties tv show I suppose it's ok but it's really not my style.  LOL, I read Harry Potter instead of watching.

K: Kim and Kevin made cookies and a pineapple cake yesterday.  Both were very yummy even if the cake was a bit too sweet.

L: I love sunny days in May.  Too bad we don't get them anymore!  Stupid rain.  If I wanted rain everyday I'd move back to the coast.

M:  Music and Lyrics is a really cute movie.  Hugh Grant is a surprisingly good singer.  I'm thinking I'm going to end up buying a copy someday.

N: My mommy made me a couple new skirts.  I love new clothes.

O: I may buy some orzo next time I'm at work.  We haven't had it in a long time and I want some.

P: It's really peaceful laying in a house all by yourself listening to the wind blow through leaves and the ceiling fan spin and kids laughing in the distance.

Q: I've got quite a lot to do today.  I'm also quite drawn to my book... We'll see what wins out in the end lol.

R: I regret how badly I've neglected a lot of things in my life.  Friends especially but there are other things too.  Sometimes it just feels like there are not enough hours in the day and something is going to suffer.  It's especially frustrating because everyone's schedule is impossible to mesh with the others.

S: Someone asked me the other day if Landon and I had found a place to live yet.  Since she is highly irritating I more or less just said we hadn't been looking yet.  It's none of her business.  I wonder if I'm antisocial or something...  Or just private?  Just because you and I work in the same place doesn't mean I need to share everything with you.

T: There is half of a piece of toast on a plate in front of me.  I forgot to eat it because I was making this.

U: Sometimes I wonder if we're all as happy underneath it all as we appear on the surface.  How much stuff do we just push into some corner so that all we have to see is good?  Minds are like my sister's room...  When she does get around to cleaning it it looks good but if you start poking around you find that she's hidden the mess everywhere but the room seems clean...  Maybe we seem like happy people but what happens when you poke?

V: Landon and I are thinking of taking a little vacation on the August long weekend.  Maybe.  It would probably involve renting a cabin up at Waskesiu and then being lazy...  Yay!

W: The wedding has been postponed.  Landon and I both decided that the current wedding is not what we wanted but was booked in response to pressure from his parents.  So for the time being it's off the table and we'll go back to thinking about it in a while.  No rush or anything after all.

X: It was xtremely windy on Saturday afternoon.  Monster thunderstorm.  A piece of the Moxies sign ended up under my mother-in-law's car!

Y: Yesterday ended up being a nice day even with all the drama and breakdowns.

Z: I'm trying to convince Landon that we should go to the zoo sometime.  I'm thinking it would be a lot of fun...

Ah, my weekly entry...  I know you're all waiting with abated breath lol.

What did I do last week?

Monday and Tuesday were the housewife thing again.  Baked a lot.  Applied for a few jobs.  Cleaned.  Washed.

Wednesday through Saturday were standard work-y days.  Thursday night Landon and I sat outside and watched this awesome thunderstorm, that was really cool.  Friday was super fun...  My department spent three hours+ outside in the pouring rain unloading pallets of plants!  Does the excitement ever end?

Landon and I went shopping yesterday.  It started off so innocently, he needed a couple things for work and we needed a few groceries.  LOL...  Landon ended up with a bunch of dvds (He used to throw away movie cases when he bought new ones and recently decided he wanted cases so he's been re-buying them...) and I've now got 5 more pairs of underwear, a new bra, a couple movies (they were 2 for $10!), and a couple new t-shirts.  I'm a bit grumpy about the shirts though...  See, I tried them on and the small was too small so I bought mediums and the shirts still ride up my tummy.  I generally wear a small so this bugs me...  We did get the groceries though, I was quite proud of us considering we went a lunch time when neither of us had eaten but we only bought stuff from the list.

We made quesidillas for lunch and then baked some tarts because my mom wanted some.  I also made potato salad for supper (which was really good...  Too good in fact lol).  Went for a walk (it was gorgeous yesterday) and then watched the Illusionist (I fell asleep for the last half hour or so which sucks because it's the best part).

I've been super productive so far today...  Worked on my resume, washed tons of laundry, ironed, new sheets on the bed...  Gonna go have some lunch and then get ready to go to the dentist, bleh.  I hate the dentist even though mine is a really cool guy.  it probably wouldn't be such an issue but I'm always always forgetting to floss.
